C=T Best Albums of 2012

It has been seven years that I’ve been writing this blog. I’ve narrowed down the usual list from 25 albums to 10 albums, just to make things a little more concise. I was very fortunate to have caught John Talabot twice this year. Once as a solo act at the quaint Larimer Lounge, and the other time opening up for the xx. I don’t like making comparisons, but Frank Ocean’s album made me feel like I was listening to something of an incantation of Stevie Wonder. Young and extremely talented, and often overlooked by mainstream media (yes, we’re looking at you BET). The rest of the list speaks for itself, except for the inclusion of an EP from Summer Camp that was included in any summer mix that I made. Those five tracks should’ve made it to the duo’s first LP, however, better late than never. I make this list for selfish reasons. Mainly so that I can tell my daughter what I was listening to when she gets older. I appreciate you stopping by my corner of the interwebz and look forward to many more years of music.
