There’s too much hot fiya on the debut album from Spoon frontman Britt Daniel and Wolf Parade vocalist, Dan Boeckner. It’s not fair to try and muzzle two of my favorite vocalists on the first album from Divine Fits titled “A Thing Called Divine Fits.” Boeckner has run with the project and made it his own, capitalizing the most on his dedicated tracks. Whereas Daniels takes a laid back approach, allowing the music to meet him on his own terms and not quite making himself as available as we’ve heard on previous Spoon outings.
Teengirl Fantasy has decided to incorporate R&B vocals on the new album, making the new addition a new angle for the duo to explore. “Tracer” hits it’s true stride on “End.” A slow teaser beat that never quite reaches it’s crescendo, however, seems perfectly suited for that part in the movie when the protagonist is on the brink of solving a fastidious problem that holds all of life’s answers.
You can listen to both albums here and here respectively.
