Friday Remixes

The Olympics are winding down with my beloved Mexican soccer team playing for the gold tomorrow morning. The experience has been forgettable at best with NBC making botched call after botched call putting their advertisers before the audience. I hope they’ve learned from their mistakes and move to improve for the winter games in Russia in 2014.

In better news, last night was the Denver Broncos first preseason game. The world finally saw Peyton Manning take his first snap as a Bronco. His passes seemed to look wobbly at times, but his sound decision making will mitigate any potential turnovers. Overall, the team looks solid, however, should Manning go down, newcomer Brock Osweiler should be able to come in and be a servicable alternative. His calm demeanor in the pocket is a nice bode of confidence for those naysayers out there. That first pick from the 2012 draft spent on Derrick Wolf isn’t looking so bad after all. The rookie picked up two sacks in the blowout versus the Chicago Bears. You can only take the game with a grain of salt due to the contest being the first preseason game of the season for either club and any type of judgement at this point is a tad premature. I’m looking at you, Knowshon.
