I’m a fan of whatever outfit Greg Dulli is fronting. The announcement that the Afghan Whigs have reunited with tour dates that include my hometown is even better news. The timing of the Frank Ocean track, “Lovecrimes,” couldn’t have come at a better time and the Dulli vocals on track breathes new life to an already piece of stellar work.
The AV Club’s “Undercover” series is one of the best things to happen to the Internet on a weekly basis. The last two weeks saw covers from Father John Misty taking the subdued “Do You Realize?” and taking it down several notches. Is that’s even possible? Mariachi El Bronx taking on the Decemberists requires a little more Don Julio for my liking with the ode to the second most populated city of Mexicans in the world, Los Angeles.
