the Weekender ::: Liars on Yours Truly, the Boss and Macca get shutdown early and Grizzly Bear covers Hot Chip

I’ve tried on multiple occasions to get into Liars. I’ve found a large body of their material confusing and rarely accessible. “WIXIW” is different. Many layers that felt like complete chaos feels like controlled chaos on the latest offering from Liars. Yours Truly captures the guys in an Echo Park studio performing my favorite track on the album, “No.1 Against The Rush.” An interesting side-note to the album is the first track on the album, “The Exact Colour Of Doubt,” functions as my daughter’s “lullaby” song. I’ve tested it on her many times and the end result is always the same.

Sir Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen took the big stage at Hyde Park in the UK and played for over three hours. A firm curfew was set and the duo’s performance well exceeded said curfew. Such tolerance was taken advantage of and the plug was pulled. I guess the rules still apply to you, even when you’re royalty. Via EW.

Lastly, we get a gentle take on Hot Chip’s hip shaking, “Boy from School,” from Grizzly Bear. I’m not 100% sold on the new track from their upcoming album, “Shields,” out this September but could be easily convinced. Thanks to Chromewaves for the heads up.
