It wouldn’t be unfathomable for Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros to make another album to rival their first album. Realistically speaking, not sure there’s much of a chance to come even remotely close to “Up from Below.” The Zeros have released the charming follow-up with the release “Here,” and despite lacking any of the punchiness from the first album, the sophomore album plays as well as one could expect with the primary album receiving a lot more careful attention.
The Walkmen appear to have reached a twilight moment in the ten plus years in existence. The guys appear to have settled down with their spouses/kids and have put together their “grown up” album with the quintet reaching their stride on the rapid pick ups that compliment the slow crooning style of vocalist Hamilton Leithauser. Pick up their latest album, “Heaven,” on vinyl. It’s that good. Thanks to the Audio Perv for the video.
