This is a long time coming. Suffice to say, it’s been almost a whole year, but Fire Records released the LP, “Kellies,” by Argentinean girls, Las Kellies. Despite the album’s garage rock tendencies and purring vocals, the strengths of the release rest on the instrumental takes and slower numbers. I wouldn’t mind seeing more tracks in Spanish, however, I’ll take “Perro Rompebolas,” any day and the fourteen song album clocks in at under thirty two minutes. How’s that for brevity? Las Kellies take what the Waitresses did and crafted instrumental gems as an added dimension.
