SXSW has come and gone again. It’s speculated over 200,000 people littered the streets of Austin for the music lover’s paradise, but I remember by Saturday morning, my liver had all but gone out on me and my feet begged me to not leave the hotel. For those of you that braved all week, we salute you. Some of the more memorable items that I caught wind of is Bruce Springsteen bringing the kitchen sink on stage to cover Woody Guthrie’s classic, “This Is Your Land.” The performance included, but not limited to, Tom Morello, Eric Burdon, Joe Ely, Alejandro Escovedo and Arcade Fire.

Domino is reporting that Hot Chip will be BACK! Their new album, “In Our Heads,” will see the light of day on June 11. Expect the guys to hit the road in support of the new album with some dates south of the border. The first taste, “Flutes,” sounds exactly where they left off on their last album, “One Life Stand.” Dare I say that they’re one of the best live bands to ever grace the stage.

Damon Albarn hs the equivalent of restless leg syndrome as a musician. He’s never NOT working on a project and “Dr. Dee” is the name of his forthcoming album to be released via Parlophone on May 7. Don’t expect anything crazy like his Gorillaz vehicle. The album is inspired by John Dee a numbers wizard and advisor to Elizabeth I. Expect the album to be a little more on the tamer side than what fans are accustomed to from previous works.
