Kickin’ Television ::: the Civil Wars on Leno and Lana Del Rey on Kimmel
The $hit storm that ensued after the Lana Del Rey performance was perfectly well put by SNL’s Kristen Wiig as Lana herself, stating “I must have clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem.” That about sums up the public sentiment about Lizzie Grant Lana Del Rey. Last night LDR checked to see if the coast was clear by avoiding the public eye since her SNL performance. Del Rey proved that after last night’s performance that she’s only half robotic when singing before a studio audience. There were signs of life and who knows, the public MIGHT actually see her tour get off the floor.
The Civil Wars caught my attention last year when they appeared on World Cafe with David Dye and their story caught my attention about how their respective spouses cope with the cruel touring schedule that imposes it’s demanding will on musicians. The duo played a short one minute set on Sunday night’s Grammy’s and nailed it as much one could in one minute.
