Weekender ::: Bruce Springsteen joins the Gaslight Anthem, Win Butler joins the National and Katy Perry // Robyn on SNL

It doesn’t matter at what time of day you listen to the National’s “Start a War,” it’s impossible not to be moved by the sheer beauty of the music. Sprinkle in some Win Butler and you have pure magic. That’s what happened at in some hockey rink in Montreal this past Friday.

My unabashed love for Katy Perry knows no bounds. Her “Teenage Dream” album has been charting in one form or single since it hit the scene, rivaling the late great, Michael Jackson. Robyn has been providing the musical support in most markets, and with Perry hosting SNL, why not have Robyn do the musical guest duties?

A dream made in New Jersey occurred when the Boss, Bruce Springsteen, sheepishly hopped on stage with the torchbearers of Jersey rock, the Gaslight Anthem. The two Jersey icons performed “American Slang” and I’m sure plenty of fist pumps reached for the sky.
