The NBA playoffs continue are two things have become evident.The East will be represented by either Chicago or Miami and the West could be represented by new blood. The only commanding performance being put on in the West is by the Thunder. KD is a part of a two-man wrecking crew and his unselfish play is highly contagious making the Thunder one of the most exciting teams in the NBA. Their crowds are reminiscent of a high school playoff basketball game that has the entire crowd decked out in school pride. I can only hope that the crowd here in Denver represents similarly. It’s easy to attribute the affinity that the OKC citizens show the team to the fact that there’s nothing else going on in town and they’re the only ticket around. Phil Jackson has criticized their fans for “cheering” in the first quarter. I guess there’s an “unofficial” handbook to audience etiquette at NBA games. The Nuggets are down two games in which J.R. Smith and Birdman have been non-existent. AAA has been absent as well, due to a hamstring injury. Afflalo vows to be back for game three, which should add a different element to the Nugget’s game, namely being able to defend Durantula. If the Nuggets can take the next two and steal one in OKC, they should be able to wrap up the series. This series could decide who will represent the West, because the Lakers are looking lethargic and the Spurs are hurt. Besides, everybody knows the Mavericks don’t get past the second round anyway.
