The Stokes made their SNL appearance last night looking as if they haven’t missed a beat. Casablancas crooned his lyrics in Lou Reed fashion, Nick and Albert doing extended guitar riffs, Nikolai sporting his John Lennon tribute shirt, and Fab doing his best to keep everybody on beat. The Strokes are playing SXSW in a couple of weeks at Town Shores. It’ll be a trek from 6th to make it down there, but I’m sure well worth it, otherwise, you can catch them at the many festivals coming up. Of the two tracks played last night, “Life Is Simple in the Moonlight,” played like a slow burner that’s reminiscent of the days of “Is This It.”
