About 300 faithful lined up over at Twist and Shout for a late afternoon in-store performance last Friday to catch a glimpse of the “Go Go Boots” tour that landed at the Ogden Theater for at two night stint. Here’s what Patrick Brown from Twist and Shout had to say about the rollicking afternoon:

“On Friday March 18th, Twist was honored to present an in-store by the Drive-By Truckers – or rather, a stripped down version of same, featuring singer/guitarist Patterson Hood on acoustic guitar and keyboardist/utility hitter Jay Gonzalez on accordion and backing vocals. The guys didn’t have a lot of time so they knocked out a terrific, warm, intimate five-song set for the crowd of over 300 that showed up to see the Truckers. The fans were so vocally enthusiastic about the songs, which laid heavily on the DBT’s terrific new album Go-Go Boots, that Pat and Jay decided they could spare the time for a quick encore before they signed autographs. Over 150 lucky fans bought titles at or before the event to secure a wristband admitting them to the signing before the guys zipped off to the Ogden Theatre for the first sold-out night of a two-night stint. Both shows were loud, long, and great, with only a handful of songs overlapping the two nights and stellar moments scattered throughout both evenings, all of a very different flavor from the intimacy of the in-store and all completely enjoyable.”
