Electrelane is BACK!
In 2004, I had Sirius, before it was XM. I was obsessed with this station named Left of Center. They played all kinds of jams, back to back. I got a sample of UK’s Electrelane. This was around the same time that “the OC” was on and it was one of my guilty pleasures. Two weeks after I had listened to the jam on Left of Center, I heard it on “the OC.” I got all kinds of excited and I caught them at SX that year. Their touring is less than extensive, but the fact that the girls got back together from hiatus is reason enough for me to believe that there will be new material in the future. Their music borders jammy and improvisational with the gorgeous baritone vocals Verity Susman provided by and punchy drums from Emma Gaze. NME has confirmed that they will be playing Field Day this year.
