I finally got around to watching “Kick Ass” the other day and was delightfully surprised.The movie impressed me with it’s alternate take on the superhero flick. I wasn’t so delightfully surprised by seeing Nicholas Cage in the movie. Had I had known he was in the movie, I wouldn’t have watched it at all. My disdain for Nicholas Cage goes way back. He appears in two of my favorite movies, but my hatred for him supersedes my love for “Raising Arizona” and “Blue Velvet”. So much in fact, that I can’t watch those movies anymore. He’s very one dimensional and has the same acting chops in any movie that he appears in. I dare you to watch any of his movies and tell me he isn’t playing the same character. Very much like Matt Damon. What movie can you think of where Matt Damon isn’t the know-it-all bad ass?
