In case you missed the news, Devotchka have announced that they will be releasing their first studio album in over three years to be released via Anti! A lot has happened since 2008. Lead singer, Nick Urata, has become quite fond of scoring Hollywood movies. Urata scored the recent films “I Love You Phillip Morris” with Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, “The Joneses” with Demi Moore and David Dechovny, and “Father of Invention” with Kevin Spacey. Talk about keeping busy! In even better news, Devotchka has announced that they will be playing “the Misch” (aka the Mishawaka) Aug 28th, not to be confused with the ol’ bedroom staple, “mish“. I’ve never been to the Ft. Collins landmark, but it might be time to take that trip up I-25 to take in one of the more beautiful outdoor venues in Colorado (sorry Comfort Dental, but you’ll always be known as Fiddler’s to me). The other Colorado date will take place at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass even that takes place over Labor Day, with the likes of Wilco and Calexico to name a few.
