Cold Cave

In part II of, “Missed the Boat”, I go back to last year’s Autumn release of Cold Cave’s “Love Comes Close”. I’m a sucker for certain labels, and Matador is one of them. The Philly band, easily mistaken to be from Brooklyn, hone in on hallow ground once owned by 80’s electronic fiends, Yaz. Think of Ian Curtis vocals layered over New Order’s “Power, Corruption, and Lies”. For those of you lucky NYC kids, they’ll be playing at Le Poisson Rouge and selling their ‘New Morale Leadership’ cassette tapes (that feels so weird to type that). More info here.
