I was reminded that the sixties rock revival was alive and well last night when Austin’s , the Strange Boys, rolled into town. Ryan Sambol’s echo last night conjured up memories of listening to my mom’s 45′s collection. I love how bad his vocals were last night. Bad in ways that make vocals like Stephen Malkmus and Bob Dylan so unmistakable. On several tunes, both Ryan and Jenna Thornhill deWitt collided with dueling harmonica’s. A move I’d never seen in my life. Not that it’s CRAZY, but you don’t see dueling harmonica’s too often.
