the Antlers-Bear
Preexisting notions can sometimes be so misleading that when the actual event unfolds it leaves you in awe and amazement. Saturday’s show at The Ogden Theatre in Denver featuring The Antlers and the Editors was nothing short of extraordinary. For two bands that can occasionally seem somber and melancholy, they came out with their guns a blazing sounding vibrant and alive. From The Antlers ending each song with such a powerful presence, to the Editors front man Tom Smith playing the keyboard with such grace and passion, the fans were left with nothing to be disappointed by.
The Ogden was the perfect venue for a show of this nature, the close proximity allowed the fans feel the raw emotions the bands were trying to express and convey. Prior to the show you could feel the fans anticipation of the two bands recently released albums. The Editors success that came after “An End has a Start” will be continued as the band delivers gripping shows for their new album “In This Light and On This Evening”. This was a riveting performance by both and will be talked about for months, it left its fans wanting more till the next time they come back around.- Eric Garretté
