Today is 1st Friday and it for those of you brave souls that make it out to Santa Fe tonight, start your walk at Boxcar Gallery located on Santa Fe between 5th and 6th. Great pieces and heavily discounted. Make sure to bundle up. Also, Westword posted their favorite picks for the weekend. I’m 100% behind their favorite for the weekend. The Don’ts and Be Carefuls (one of the most promising local acts) are playing their EP show tonight with a plethora of heavily talented Denver acts at a ridiculously cheap price.

Lastly, tomorrow Bebel Gilberto (yes, the daughter of João Gilberto) is making a Denver visit to the Ogden Theatre. She’s supporting a heavily Portuguese sung album, “All is One” and for some reason when I listen to her music, I get a strong urge to drink and dance. In that order. It’s one of those things that make you feel instantaneously cool by listening to her bossa nova sound. Catch her tomorrow!
