Sometimes it’s better to go out on a high note. Steve Schlitz’s voice may sounds familiar. Perhaps you remember it from Longwave, where he was lead vocalist for the past ten years. Longwave had finished promoting their best album and like that, Steve decided to head out on a high note. The group is still together, but Steve is now Hurricane Bells. He used those creative juices from Secrets are Sinister to create an ethereal album founded on wispy vocals and reverb. Lots of it . The album , Tonight is the Ghost (released this past Tuesday) and it’s the passion of Steve taking 18 months with his Mbox and Macbook. The video for the single, “This Year”, below is one that involves Legos. Based on that fact alone, the video has become one of my favorite of the year. Oh yeah, one more thing, Hurricane Bells has a track on that one movie that’s coming out next week about hedonistic vampires, Twilight. I think that’s what it’s called.
