The scene at the Meadowlark was something like a vibe I’ve never experienced before. There was a lot of love in the air. The energy in the newly decorated (I haven’t been to the Meadowlark in a while so it’s new to me) patio was radiating positive vibes from every corner in the joint. To paint a lucid picture; the crowd setup strategically placed bubble makers around the stage to create an even prettier scene (earlier in the night, Buffalo Exchange held a fashion/art show) than what was already in place. It’s all about the small things. The entire crowd seemed as if they knew each other (mostly kids that I recognized from Rhinoceropolis) and a sense of community was in place. Travis hit the stage creating a mass dance party that reminded me of the first Girl Talk show I saw several years ago. That kind of potent energy is raw and contagious and spread like the Swine Flu creating a mass epidemic of dancing bodies. I regret leaving early to see Simian Mobile Disco (the duo were laying thick beats, but the crowd left much to be desired). The live version of the material off of Dark Rift translated well live, perhaps even better. This sounds obvious but the beats sounded heavier (not because of the higher volume), but they were saturated with an uncontrolled vitality that pushed the beats even higher. You can catch him a couple of more times before he leaves on tour w/Health.

I agree that PicturePlane has come a long way and going further. his performances continue to get better. and its great that he is conducting live performances. that could be compared to Psychic TV and other acid house roots. Can’t wait to hear the new tracks that people seem to really dig.
I’m pretty sure that he’s doing something on the 15th at this workspace on 4th and Lincoln. There’s always some crazy parties (never been, but I’ve heard).
