Times New Viking
Times New Viking have promised not to sound so “lo-fi” on their forthcoming album, Born Again Revisted, to be released Sept. 22nd via Matador. They have found a way to combat their sound by delivering their master recordings of their forthcoming album in the form of VHS recordings. It could have been worse, they could have chosen to use Betamax instead. (via Matablog) For those of you too young to remember, there was a time when you rented a movie, you had to rewind them before you returned them to Blockbuster, otherwise, they would charge you $1. We didn’t have the luxuries of just hitting next chapter to get to our favorite parts in the movie, it was a timely process. And when you hit pause on the movie, there was a bunch of static on the screen, not like DVD when you get a crystal still screen. Sigh, I feel old.
