The news of a forthcoming Mars Volta album, has me a bit squeamish because I don’t know if it will be Frances the Mute type material or if it will be some Bedlam in Goliath material. Hopefully the former, because the more the band progresses, the less I understand. Cedric and Omar, please forgive my ignorance. Isaw them play years ago in Long Island. I hope that they got their live set a bit more together. Last time I saw them their mix was so bad I had to leave. That was back in the day that 92.3 was still playing decent music though. Maybe it was just jones beach’s sound system that made it so jumbled together. Anyway the new tracks sound pretty tight.

The several live shows that I’ve been fortunate to catch them, were all cohesive, it’s the material that worries me.
