Fischerspooner
The duo will be making a stop here in Denver. It really feels like forever since we last heard from them. Alas, the duo will be releasing a new album, here are more deets:
In May, Fischerspooner will release Entertainment, their third full-length album. Recorded over a two-year period with producer Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, The Sounds) the music marks a further maturation of the group’s sound. Written and recorded independently in a carriage house in Brooklyn, the primary collaborators this time were an intimate circle of artists working on the live show: Ian Pai, Ben Bromley and Sam Kearney. The album’s special guests include actress/performance artist Ann Magnuson (Bongwater), UK musician Gabriel Olegavich (Lady Sovereign, Spektrum) and electronic collagist Steven Stein (Double Dee & Steinski).
A taste of the unexpected, full of surprise flavors, Fischerspooner looks forward to unleashing their new work in 2009: Entertainment, an album aswirl with ideas and fresh sounds, and an electric stage show bridging the worlds of art and pop.

Depeche Mode Video
The official Patrick Daughter’s video for Wrong is here for your viewing pleasures. (via P4K)
This Summer will be my first time seeing Depeche Mode. I saw Dave Gahan solo, but that doesn’t really count. The video is aesthetically pleasing, though, the actual music kind of leaves much to be desired. Not my favorite, but we shall see what the rest of the guys have to offer. I remember listening to the shit out of 101 when I was a kid and thinking how awesome it would have been at the Rose Bowl where they recorded the album. If I’m not mistaken, the Rose Bowl seats 100k large and that’s not including the field.

Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Webisode
If I read this right, the trio recorded some of the album at the Sonic Ranch in El Paso. Is El Paso becoming a new haven for exciting and new things to come? There’s going to be a couple more of these Webisode’s along with the video for Zero. Here’s what Nick Zinner had to say about the new process-
“YYYs invite you to take an intimate look into the making of our new record It’s Blitz! One man armed with a camera documenting our day to day recording activities, from the mundane to the not so mundane. There’s never been a more candid portrait of us “doing our thing” as the following series of teasers, for the visual journey into our sonic crusade, that we call SNAKESWEAT. Up first, tender moments with the inscrutable Nick Zinner. LUV YYYs”
The album, It’s Blitz!, will be released April 14th. Look for tourdates soon!

If you haven’t heard, the Airborne Toxic Event has been canceled until April 15th at the Ogden. But don’t fret. Chances are you have the night available and wanted to go out, but don’t know where. Good news is that the openers, Henry Clay People will be doing a free show at the Larimer Lounge tonight , alongside DJ Hot to Death’s New Music Mondays. “Everything’s cool. Nothing’s fucked here man. The plane has not crashed into the mountain.”
