ROCK THE VOTE ROAD TRIP HITS THE STREETS THROUGH ELECTION DAY
BEASTIE BOYS, JACK JOHNSON, BEN HARPER, TENACIOUS D, SANTOGOLD, AND MORE TO SUPPORT ROCK THE VOTE WITH ROAD TRIP STOPS

With over 2.3 million individuals registering to vote through www.rockthevote.com, Rock the Vote takes its’ success on the road educating and mobilizing young voters to hit the polls on November 4. Launching Monday, October 13 in Minneapolis, MN with indie rock super group Broken Social Scene.
Fresh off the success of a three week voter registration tour, Rock the Vote, the leading organization for youth and politics, has announced plans to continue its Road Trip across America through Election Day. Rock the Vote’s Road Trip will embark on another three-week tour designed to engage and educate tens of thousands of young people in person, inspiring them to go to the polls.
Rock the Vote’s Road Trip, a state-of-the-art mobile road show, will reach out to the nation’s youth. After registering more than 2.3 million young people to vote through the Rock the Vote website, the next three weeks will be spent ensuring young people have the information and motivation they need to go to the polls.
Rock the Vote’s Road Trip will visit high profile events and concerts as well as college campuses and high schools in key markets distributing information on polling place locations, what to bring to the polls, and other basic information on voting, as well as shuttling people to the polls in early voting states. The Road Trip begins October 13 in Minneapolis, MN. The kick off date will feature a performance from indie rock super group, Broken Social Scene. At future stops, Rock the Vote will be joined by popular music artists including Beastie Boys, Murs, Flobots, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Crosby & Nash, Santogold, Tenacious D and others. Additional events will be announced in the coming weeks, including musical talent, community leaders and national spokespeople.
Rock the Vote’s Road Trip tour bus is outfitted with computer kiosks that assist in fielding requests for absentee ballots, teaching users about key issues and the election process, informing users about voting poll locations and much more. The artistic design of the bus itself was conceived by Shepard Fairey, the celebrated contemporary artist/graphic designer who emerged from the skateboard scene with his famous “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” campaign.
“We hit our goal this year with more than 2.3 million individuals registering to vote through our website and our on-the-ground efforts.,” said Heather Smith, Executive Director of Rock the Vote. “Now we are excited to get the Road Trip bus back out on the road to provide the information necessary to help to fuel record turnout in November.”
