DISCOBAMA is a week-long music and dance party bringing together Denver’s finest bands, DJs and friends. DISCOBAMA is a non-partisan, collective effort to recognize and celebrate our musical community while looking forward to a positive change for America’s future. All events will be held downtown in the epicenter of the DNC at the SHAG LOUNGE, (830 15th St, Denver CO 80202), 15th & Champa, a block from the Convention Center.
The party will kick off at 6pm each day and will include performances by Cat-A-Tac feat Everything Absent or Distorted Supergroup, indie-rock heros Laylights, new buzz band Young Coyotes, songster Joshua Novak playing with a full backing band, Needlepoint Records’ Rabbit Is A Sphere and Magic Mice, indie popsters Kissing Party, one-man-dance party the Chain Gang of 1974, and national touring artist Patchwork. From 10pm the event will keep the party going all night with some of the best DJs in the region including boyhollow (Michael Trundle of Lipgloss fame), dj soup (Westwords Best DJ 2008), Tyler “Danger” Jacobson (Lipgloss), and DJ Hot to Death (Co-Founder of MONOLITH Festival) – and some special guests that we can’t announce.
The DISCOBAMA parties are curated and brought to you by the MONOLITH Festival, Lipgloss (Denver3.com), Shag Lounge, Needlepoint Records, HunnyPot Unlimited, Cause=Time, The Donnybrook Writing Academy, I am Fuel/You Are Friends, All of the participating bands, DJs and other participants who helped make this a reality.
