This is the third time the band has made their round to Denver. First time was at an in-store performance at the defunct Tower Records. Number of people in the crowd, 15. The Bluebird later that night had an almost capacity crowd. Their latest jaunt through Denver had a near full house. Last time was at Monolith, where I enjoyed one of the best performances of the weekend. Their live shows keep on getting more compelling and more complex. Their sound has become more texturized , and for a band to be accused of sounding like all the copycats, they claim to be obsessed over REM. I could see that , and more. Tom Smith’s energy carried the group for the first half of the set, only to have the remaining set be carried by talented guitarist Chris Urbanowicz.
and if i recall i was one of those 15
