My affinity for the Destroyer albums grows more and more everyday. A bad Destroyer album doesn’t exist. Go ahead, I dare you and find one. By the by, he released his tour itinerary, and he’s making a pit stop here in Denver at the intimate Walnut Room. Write that down. On a separate note, his forthcoming album Trouble in Dreams will be released March 18th via Merge and you need to write that down too. Buy here.

My love for the Buttons is not hidden.
However, their album Street Horrrsing has a street date (March17th), a UK one, but a street date, nonetheless. Their beautiful yet terrifying landscapes that they paint are sometimes harrowing. I had written that they were going to tour with that other Fuck band, but somehow fell of the face of the tour. Hmmm…. You can buy the new album here.
Mark your calendars. Feb. 19th is the date when the Raveonettes release the debut on Vice. To commemorate the release, seems as though The Dandy Warhol’s Peter Holmstrom, and The Village Green’s Jeremey Sherrer take a hand at remixing the duo’s latest single. One more thing, the Raveonettes will be doing the SXSW thing and most recently played some live tracks at Live Daily.
The Raveonettes-Dead Sound (Remix by Peter Homstrom and Jeremy Sherrer)[mp3]
Everybody has probably written about these guys. I just got hipped to Matador’s newest wonder kids. Their sound is as raw as the meat at the butcher shop. I’m hoping they make the rounds at SXSW, although I don’t see Austin or any dates available for March. Buy the album here.

As in the name of the group from Sydney, Australia. The picture isn’t a mugshot, but I thought it was. Metal PostCard is releasing their fierce debut 7″ , half of which, will get you over the hump.

Orb
Orb is a group that is easily taken for granted . They constantly churn out consistent music without changing much over the span of several years, possibly two decades, bust still, they are consistent. Their latest album released yesterday is their 8th album recorded in London with producers Youth and Tim Bran. It’s available as in import and can be purchased here.
The Orb-Dirty Disco Dub (DDD) [mp3]
Stereogum is already taking bets on when the backlash will begin. Even Pitchfork gave them an 8.8. That’s pretty solid first outing. I still have much love for them and only hope that their popularity only catches on like a herpes outbreak. On the upside, they added us as the last date on their tour! They were solid the last two times and I doubt that they’ll disappoint. By the by, their self titled album was released today!
