Fionn Regan

Irishman Fionn Regan is one of the nominations on the Mercury Prize Shortlist for album of the year. I was unfamiliar with, so I decided to go and do some digging. My searching was pleasant, and I am probably the last to know about this guy, but I went through a phase in my life where I would listen to his brand of folk acoustic style of songwriting, but it felt good to be reacquainted with that style. At times, the album plays like exactly what you would expect somebody from Lost Highway Records would sound like, which is like a landscape in the Arizona desert in the middle of summer in a convertible ’67 Cadillac. It’s folky, twangy, and all troubadour.
