Who knew somebody not using a stage and with his looks would ensue such a riot only seen on two other occasions, Matt & Kim, and Girl Talk. This guy is a walking party. His looks maybe deceiving, kind of like the creepy guy that always has that garage sale around the block kind of creepy. Turns out, he’s funny, and not so creepy. The crowd went from a curious passive state from beginning to hysterical frenzy. Video Hippos on the other hand had me approach a near seizure with their crazy videos and crazier tunes. I’m not epileptic, but it was like that one Simpson’s episode where they watch those Japanese cartoons and they all start convulsing on the floor. Yeah, kind of like that.

Cobra Dukes is one of the latest acts to sign to new label UK based Prestel. This track in particular is setting shit on fire overseas and being played by some pretty big names Mylo, MSTRKRFT,touche, Will from ACTH and Punks Jump Up. Don’t stare too hard at the picture, you may get set in a trance.

Didn’t he just relase a new album with his Spanish girlfriend? At this rate, he is going to start pumping albums like Ryan Adams. Alright, maybe not as fast, but you get the idea. His latest offering, Country Mouse City House, is a bit more accessible because he allows for his influences to shine a little brighter. The twang and the best parts of the 70′s, the groove and the storytelling side. The album will be relased July 31st and you can purchase it here.

Black Sheep Boy. They have been busy recording and opening up for Lou Reed (Lou Reed, are you kidding me? WOW). The only thing I would like to clear up is the fact that Adam
Duritz vocals ≠ Will Sheff’s vocals.

UK band Heads We Dance , the name of the band comes from a Kate Bush song, so don’t hate, are cutting up rugs with their earnest vocals and and drum machines alike. What’s not to like, they cite Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Roxy Music, Timbaland and Pet Shop Boys as influences. Their charming lyrics and love with the future, or is the past that has me trying desperately trying to sit still as I type this very sentence. Must…. concentrate….must…… keep……. feet….. still….
