#1 Explosions in the Sky – (writers note:This concludes the list of bands not to miss at ACL this year. I intentionally left all the headliners because it’s just a given that I’m sure I’ll catch them soon enough, or may just stumble upon their stage while here at the festival.)This Texas band will be forever associated with “Friday Nights Lights” soundtrack and for good reason, it got my attention. Their music made people realize why football is life in Texas. I live in Colorado now, I was raised in Texas, and I miss those Friday night lights sometimes. It reminds me of a time when things were a little easier and didn’t have all the hustle and bustle that life hands to everyone. Their music is epic sounding with its peaks/valleys and it’s beautiful textures that paint a picture with each note. The music is instrumental for all those that care, and that’s the beauty part of it, you interpret what you want and has a different meaning for everybody.
