Let there be Taco Cabana!!! I’m in Austin now, and I flew in last night. I have had my TC fix and I am ready to go. There’s a lot of action going on over here, and you can feel it. All the locals are very amped about the festival and for very good reason. Here’s to hoping that this time around there isn’t a cloud of dust lingering over the park for the duration of the festival. I’ll be happy to see some of the kewl kids here. It’s the tail end of the acts to see while @ ACL and without further adieu:

#2 New Pornographers-This Canadian Supergroup that needs no introduction. I have never seen them and I need to badly. Muzzle of Bees is reporting that Neko Case will be joining the band for her duties while in Austin. What a treat, usually they play sans Neko. I love their dependability. They could probably take a dump and record it and it would still sound like sweet sweet music.

#3-Stars- One of the all-star members from Arts and Crafts has been making music to shape your life by for a minute, and their live shows usually brings out the Arts and Crafts alumn in full effect. Their live shows are inexplicable and in all sense of the word, glorious. I often wonder how a band so uknown to the general public could go unnoticed. I think I used one of these songs while I was ending a long term relationship and the other to look forward to the brighter things that would come my way.

Tonight – For those of you in Austin or planning on coming today should check out one of these shows. They are practically on the same block. One is at Emo’s and the other close to Club Deville.First and Emo’s- (Outside) Polyphonic Spree w/ Pilot Drift & Phillip E Karnats (8PM)
(inside) Octopus Project w/ Enon & Tokyo Police Club (8PM) and its Two Stages for one price / Official ACL pre-show. I will be at Emo’s promptly to catch the buzz of this band, Tokyo Police Club. Everyone is wetting their collective pants over these kids. Why not, they are one of Canada’s newest exports. Gawd, are all these bands Canadian (looks up the screen).
