Movie Review-Little Miss Sunshine

Last night was the second attempt made to see a free screening and I am happy to report that all went well and according to plan. The first time we showed up last week and shut out. Steve Carrell and Greg Kinnear appear in this summer’s better indie offering to have the show stolen by Alan Arkin. He plays the very assuming grandfather ready to live life to the max only to have his son (Greg Kinnear) steal the wind out of his sails. Grandpa plays a foul mouth father figure to his grand daughter attempting to compete in a beauty pageant. The movie offers a great supporting ensemble with an amazing soundtrack supplied by DevotchKa (local heroes) and I don’t think a better choice could have been made. Maybe one, Calexico, but that is all.
