New Releases Tuesday 07-25-2006

Kind of an interesting release day. The new Pharrell Williams album and Sleepy Jackson albums are worth noting, and don’t pretend like you haven’t seen that new Pharrell video w/Kanye West. Kanye special guest on a video, really, you don’t say…. As for the new Sleepy Jackson album, it’s good, but not nearly as good as its predecessor. It’s classified as “Baroque Pop” but it sounds kitschy to me, although it does have its moments of goodness. “Lovers” blended well, from beginning to end. The beginning was chamber pop, and by the end, it just sounded twangy.
