Jose Gonzalez & Juana Molina

This was the first night I was in Lala land and proved to be a good choice. I was happy to have decided to go to the show, even though it was literally in BFE, but well worth the trek. The crowd was very eclectic as one would imagine. You had about half the room full of hispanic kids from either Mexico or South America and the other half was the hipster contingency that listen to KCRW. Juana Molina was a one woman show, same as Jose Gonzalez , but she impressed me. She had this beautiful soul that she was not afraid to bare to the crowd. She played through the shitty sound system that would not cooperate with her and trudged ahead. Her music translated even better than expected. As for Jose Gonzalez, this was my second time seeing him this year, and what can I say that hasn’t been said already. He came through with another solid performance.
