:::A day late a buck short:::

So these news are really late, but in case you haven’t read, Thom Yorke lead singer of Radiohead is releasing a solo album produced by producer wizard Nigel Goodrich that has made an entire career working with those blokes, but well deserved nonetheless. What has made me upset is that Thom wrote a letter describing that he is releasing an album this summer and that this is the anti-solo album meaning that he did this album w/o the aid of the rest of his group but he doesn’t want to recognize this album as a solo outing. Sort of asking the general public not to take anything out of context. Later on that afternoon, most every blog/music site’s sensational attempt to lure readers quotes Thom as going “Solo” when he specifically wrote in his letter that he wanted none of that. So goes. I downloaded a Radiohead show from Copenhagen a week ago and listened to the new material. So I have all the facts and I’m voting yes. Radiohead has decided to go in a progressive jazzy direction that is sort of reminiscent of a tropicalia type sound on some songs, or the beats atleast.

Thom’s album The Eraser out in July
On Friday we got an exciting message from w.a.s.t.e. saying to keep an eye on our inbox today. Early this morning we’ve received the following message from Thom Yorke:
this is just a note to say that something has been kicking around in the background that i have not told you about.its called The Eraser.nigel produced & arranged it .i wrote and played it.the elements have been kicking round now for a few years and needed to be finished & i have been itching to do something like this for ages.it was fun and quick to do.inevitably it is more beats & electronics.but its songs.stanley did the cover.yes its a record!no its not a radiohead record.as you know the band are now touring and writing new stuff and getting to a good space so i want no crap about me being a traitor or whatever splitting up blah blah…this was all done with their blessing. and i don’t wanna hear that word solo. doesnt sound right.ok then thats that.
i think its out in july and im pretty certain XL are going to put it out.
love thom
